Our summer has been SO crazy. Counting my mother in law's wedding today, we have had 5 total, 2 of which I was a part of. Since April, our weekends have been filled with showers, bachelorette/bachelor parties, weddings, and toddler birthday parties! Michael and I have gotten to spend a lot of time without the baby attending all of these events, but we haven't gotten barely any one on one couple time. We both believe that this is one of the key components to a happy marriage. We love spending time with Deuce, but we need 'our' time too!
So we finally had a Friday night free. I called our sweet babysitter, Lauren (Deuce calls her Lola!), and we planned to get away for a quick, late dinner. Nothing special, just a little time away. Friday afternoon rolls around and my sweet husband has called and made reservations at a fabulous place called Trulucks! I was happy just to be getting away and was expecting nothing fancier than some simple mexican food.
This place was wonderful! We had some great wine, wonderful fish, but more importantly- great company and time alone. We finished off our date with a quick trip to Target. I honestly can't tell you the last time that we went to Target alone! Scurrying around the aisles laughing while they were making the closing announcement on the PA system was hilarious!
It was a wonderful evening and just another reminder to why I married my sweet guy. He truly is my best friend!
